Music didn’t change the outcome, but it did change the story.

Benjamin Goldberg was five years old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare cancer that affects children. Throughout his years of treatment, music was Ben’s retreat—a form of healing he instinctively prescribed for himself. By honoring his true nature, he found ways to calm, center, and express himself, often reaching for his signature headphones to create a world of comfort amid the unimaginable.

Inspired by how Ben lived, Wendy Goldberg founded the Benjamin Goldberg Foundation (BGF) to continue his spirit of healing and empowerment. Through creative engagement, integrative programs, and the healing arts, BGF helps children, caregivers, and communities find pathways to well-being—advancing a vision where health is nurtured not only through medicine, but through connection, expression, and the simple act of honoring what makes us whole.
