Bringing discovery and comfort to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
The Benjamin Goldberg Playroom sees over 5,000 hematology and oncology patient visits a year.
The playroom covers costs related to integrated programming where children can experience the restorative nature of music and art therapy, dance, yoga, and guided meditation. Child life specialists and creative arts therapists help children find peace, where they are free to explore and create in a space that is all their own.
Let It Be signage in the Benjamin Goldberg Playroom
Benjamin Goldberg was 8 years old when he was treated at CHKD. One of his favorite songs, Let It Be by The Beatles gently reminds us to fully embrace all that encompasses the here and now.

CHKD Mental Health Pavillion
BGF supports the CHKD Mental Health Pavilion, namely the 13th floor multipurpose room. This therapeutic treatment space was designed with the unique social-emotional needs of children in mind.
This space encourages the type of peer relating that can help propel a child through a difficult period of mental illness. Coaches use the multi-purpose space to facilitate social-emotional learning and the building of pro social peer relationships.
At BGF, we believe care takes many forms, from healing arts experiences to something as simple as a backpack.
We supported the introduction of colorful CADD (Continuous Ambulatory Drug Delivery) backpacks at the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters which allows children to receive cancer treatment at home. What began as an innovative idea is now part of the standard of care for pediatric cancer patients.
Our CADD backpack donation has allowed children to receive immunotherapy treatment in the comfort of their own homes, providing over 224 days of treatment per year to the oncology patients at CHKD.
This initiative reflects our long-standing commitment to integrative care — where treatment and emotional wellbeing go hand in hand.
